Hello everyone! After browsing the forums for a few days, I decided it was time for me to join.
I'm 27, female, from Finland.
I started as a good carb around February this year after talking with a friend. I had tried the induction few years back, but with definitely wrong instructions and not enough knowledge and it didn't feel good, so I was a bit negative about low carb diets. But my friend told me that there's no need to go to extremes and told about the good carb concept. From February to end of May I lost 3 kilos and started feeling better, then I started weighing my food and using a website similar to Fitday (I think) and lowered my carbs to around 30-40 grams a day. Then I started really losing weight and now I've lost 13,4 kilos (about 30 pounds) from February (a bit over a kilo per week from the beginning of June).
As you can see, I have started my new lifestyle in an unorthodox way, but it seems to have worked for me. Now I'm doing a clean induction (day 3) and I intend to follow Atkins from now on. I'm feeling really good and for the first time in over 10 years, regular exercising feels a natural thing to do and I even enjoy it. I still need to lose about 50 pounds, but I'm in no hurry.
I have already gotten a lot of help from this forum and I'm happy to have found my way here. So, thank you all for contributing to this huge forum!
