  • well, poo. i did it again.

i fell off the atkins wagon. this will be my third attempt at doing this WOL all the way through! i tend to get lazy and want to stay on induction forever, which is bad for me because i don't have that much weight to lose and i'm not learning how many carbs that my body can handle. the first time i did induction, i stayed on it for over a month and got down to 108lbs and i was ready to call it goal, but i had no idea how to go about it. i ended up going back to carb-loaded foods and gained up to 127lbs, mainly because everyone had me convinced that i was making myself sick because i was finally *thin* and my mom concluded that i must be "starving" myself (which i was NOT doing! i've never been able to eat so much and lose weight like this before in my life!! i heart atkins! ). i gave it another not-so-strict try, stayed on for three weeks and got down to 112lbs. once again, i was lost and ended up breaking over and i've been eating very bad stuff for the past three days. the scales read 120lbs currently. i'm a huge fan of sugarfreesheila.com and i'm 5'2" tall. i would really like to be about 105lbs and learn how to maintain it for life. i'm 22 years old and i have two little boys. i would love to be a good role model for them and teach them healthy eating habits early on! my oldest son is already addicted to junk food. i also have a boyfriend with sugar problems. i think he could really benefit from this WOE! now i'm armed with fitday, and my handy notebook with a page for each day of induction planned out so that i can monitor carbs closely for when OWL comes around. i've got my exercise regime planned out - 3 days a week of sculpt 3-4 from power90, 3 days of slim in six pack from slim in 6 combined with 30mins of walking/running on the treadmill. the only thing left is a support group! i look forward to getting to know everyone!!

Moving onto owl after 2 weeks really helps. How can you learn to maintain your goal weight if you do not slowly adjust your carb level and find out what works and what doesn't.?? good for you keeping a log and using fit day. welcome and keep us posted with any questions and your progress.

Hi beanpole! Welcome aboard! You are not alone, there are many, many around here who had started Atkins many times, and eventually reach their goal! You might want to check out the STAC (Second Time Around Club) as well!

You sound completely prepared to jump on this Atkins wagon with us! You can do it! Once you start cooking this way again, your BF will porbably be able to eliminate his hugar habit too!

Re: well, poo. i did it again.

thanks again for the warm welcomes! well, i'm doing pretty good so far. i bought some ketostix today since i used up all of mine the last time around. i'm already down to 117lbs so i'm pretty psyched about that! i do need to eat more though. i got into a lil tiff with the boyfriend yesterday and didn't feel like eating much of anything. i had a piece of sausage and water. today i had a four egg-two cheese omelette. yumm!! oh, and i'm trying some TAB for the first time. its alright. i'm not a big fan of soda. i figure i'll keep a limit of one can a day if i want it. i'm going to fix cajun style chicken from linda's low carb recipes later, minus the mushrooms and green onions. i forgot to pick that up at the store. i figure it'll still be good though, just less carbs. i'm also tempted to make the key lime pie off of her recipe website. that is sooo gooooood! i love stuff like that! well, off to the second time around club since there isnt a 'constantly falling off the atkins wagon club'!

Good to see you're already cooking from Linda' site! You don't eat mushrooms or green onions?

i'm not a big fan of mushrooms, but i think its great in the cajun chicken! i was too busy dreaming about that crustless key lime pie and forgot the mushrooms and green onions.
