Welcome to ADBB Valarie, it is nice to have you come join us.
My advice would be to read the book and follow the book. Drink plenty of water and get some exercise in at least three times a week if not more.
Valarie, you should browse around the board and take a look at the many challenges that are going on at this time. Join one now if you see one that stikes your fancy.
Post often so you can meet new people and make some great friends along the way. This place is awesome, enjoy !!! ttyl, brady

      Ditto on what Brady said.
The book will help you understand a lot, so if you haven't read it yet I suggest you get started soon. It's a good read.
Exercise is very important and remember to eat your veggies
There's also fitday.com to help you keep track of the things you eat, remember to keep your percentages balanced--I can't remember the exact numbers we're supposed to have, but I'm sure someone else can tell you.
      Best of luck!

Hi Val. Congratulations on making the decision to take control of your weight. You'll find lots of support and encouragement here. Definitely read the book so you will know how the program works, why it works and what to do. The book is: Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, edition 2002. It will help you to make a plan for success.

Write down your measurements, reasons for wanting to lose weight and the changes you need to make in your routine to succeed. We're here for you. Get active in the board, make friends and have fun as you watch the inches melt away. Best wishes.

Yep, I'm with Brady and the others: Book, exercise and water are the top tips. Also measurements. Very useful, especially if the scales begin to get evil. Sometimes lbs take longer than inches to tell you of your success.

              Welcome aboard and happy losing!
