  • Newbie from the UK!

    Hi all
I'm in the UK, 42, a single mum and work from home.
My weight has always yo-yoed, I'd gain alot of weight then spend a year losing it then piling it all back on again etc . So far, I've lost about 20 pounds through sheer hard work at the gym (when time permits) but my biggest vice is food. I love food!.
I know this thread is just for introductions so I'll head over to another thread and start asking questions, please be gentle with me, my book is still in the mail! (Amazon is getting slower everytime I order from them )

Thanks to the admin for creating and running the forum, I can see many people benefit from it and I hope to get much help from all you experienced ADBBers.

Everhopeful I'll get there in the end!

Well you'll be just fine on Atkins so. I love food too - and am enjoying it more since I started eating like this than ever I did. You can eat proper, tasty food all the time, cook up delicious meals, not feel hungry and still lose weight - what's not to love?

The very best of luck to you - when you get that book read every word and refer to it often!

        Re: Newbie from the UK!

Welcome !! It's good to have another Brit on-board.
        (we're vastly out numbered)

I think a lot of us are here, because we like food a little too much.

The book is wonderful. A little bit America centric but it really explains the science in a down-to-earth way. It's very well written, and easy to read and understand.

I also joined while my book was in the post, and lots of people still helped me while I was waiting.

        Good luck.

        Welcome to ADBB !!

Well, I'm not a Brit, but all my ancestors were, so all my genes are British! Welcome to the board! Wonderful bunch of people here!

If you love food, you've come to the right place! I've lost 120 pounds and have never enjoyed food this much. I'm always finding new recipes for Atkins legal foods all the time, that are my new favorites! YUM!

Congrats on ordering the book--hope it comes real soon! :reading: We'll keep you on track until it does!

Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
                    he said, 'Don't count calories.'
