I started Induction Tuesday the 13th and this morning I finally got the ketosis test strip to turn purple! I am so happy I was able to get some positive feedback - I was impatient to know I was doing it correctly.
So, to introduce myself: I am 35 and I have 35 lbs to lose. Coincidence? Perhaps. I have an 11-month-old daughter, but she is not where this extra weight came from. I have been plump and doughy for most of my adult life. My highest weight in my life was 190, but that was years ago. I have for the most part hovered around 160, which is I think where my body likes to be. But I DON'T LIKE IT.
I weighed 135 when I met my husband 5 years ago, and I want to go back there. We are going to Hawaii in March 2008, so I only have a few months. I don't expect to be done with my weight loss by then (need to have realistic goals), but I would like to enjoy myself (ie: wear a bathing suit without a mu-mu over it).
Induction is going well so far, but I will need to check out this site for some Induction-friendly recipes to keep me going. I eat one of those mock danishes almost every morning - not bad at all.
That's about it so far. I enjoy reading all the posts on here and find it very motivational. Thanks to all you fearless people for posting. Most of my questions someone else has already asked, that's why I haven't posted much yet. And the book certainly helps too!
I'll keep you all informed on my progress.
