Hello everyone.
I have been hanging out and reading everything I have time for here. Everyone has so much advice to offer. Hope you all can help me make this my way of life.
I have done every other diet I can think of and have always lost some weight. But of course it has always managed to find me again.
Last year I was admitted to the sweeties club (the big type II diabetes!) and have worked hard to get my sugars under control. Glad to say that I went to the doctor last week and all of my numbers were where she wanted them. But I still would like to get better control and try and get of some of the meds if possible.
Everything I have read on diabetes seems to indicate that low carb is the way to go for better control.
Here is my dilema. I started last Monday, February 4th and was staying under 20 gms of carb according to my carb counter book. I have only lost a couple of pounds and have yet to turn the ketone sticks any other color.
Then of course the weekend came and I had a piece of Popeyes chicken because it smelled devine, and I thought, oh no, I blew it. I took of as much of the breading as I could, and I avoided the potatoes and had a salad instead. I then went to my journal to write down my snafu, but when I looked up the carb count on the chicken it was only 8 for the whole piece of chicken. So that day I ended up at 25 carbs.
Anyway, sorry to be so long winded. Your help would be much appreciated.
Ana
