  • Here to win

I have been down this road before but this is the last time I plan to take it. Today I weigh in at 340lbs, the most I have ever weighed. I am feeling tired, sick, bloated, in pain, and just overall defeated. I have tried so long to be healthy. I have even tried Atkins. However it wasn’t the diet that failed, but me.

Today I am deciding to do this lifestyle, and to do it right. I have read The Book and plan to follow it to the letter. I will weigh myself after two weeks, eat right, take my vitamins and exercise in some form everyday. I am ready to be healthy, feel good, and live everyday to the fullest.

    Re: Here to win

Welcome Lou. This is such an awesome diet for guys. My sone started at 314 three weeks ago, and being a teen he is not as vigilant as he should be and yet he has already lost 17 pounds. (He's beating me three pounds to my one) This board is a great support and it sounds like you have the right attitude.

This time around I am looking at it as a lifestyle choice--no date deadlines for certain numbers of pounds off, no crazy expectations. I goal is to stick to the lifestyle and the rest will take care of itself. I think you have a great attitude and wish you success.

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

Good Luck to you .... put your mind to it and you can accomplish this!! I too tried many other diets but didn't follow them and became discouraged when they didn't work ... who was I kidding!! This time around there is no cheating and I find I have much more will power than I ever had before. There is so much great information on this web site and so much great support!!

Hey Lou... good luck! This board is a great place for information and encouragement. I recommend keeping record by starting a Journal Stat, and then come join us on the Journal Chats.. Also, the challenges seem to be a good way of holding yourself accountable for doing your excersize every day. I am a newbie, and have joined the July Ab Challenges, so we will see.. *hehe* Good Luck and I look forward to staying in touch and checking on eachother's progress.

Brother I hear you and feel your pain. Just stay focused and be strong and you'll do fine. The first 3 days are the hardest, after that it gets so easy. You'll see. Keep the faith. God Bless, Joe
