HI, My name is Karen. I am 48 and tried Atkins about 5 years ago. I did quite well on the plan--in fact, my husband and I did it together and each lost about 40 pounds. My husband had a heart attack in 2004 and had a right coronary stent placed...after our doctor found out we were on Atkins, he insisted that this was the reason for my husband's heart trouble and implored us to quit. We did and we both gained every pound back--and I added on an additional 5 pounds. Nothing I tried has worked since that time. I am now up to 170 pounds and am only 5'3". After reading an article in the paper this week praising the Atkins plan over other weight loss plans, I decided to try again. This is my second day of Induction. I am having the familiar symptoms of headache, fatigue, irritability, thirst and ravenous hunger. I am sure it will be better tomorrow.
That is about it--thanks for having me

So I decided it was time to get back on the horse and do this one last time.
(so far 96oz to be precise)
I wanted a fresh white breaded turkey breasted sandwich with mustard and margerine! hahaha Ohh how bad is that! BUT.. I never gave in, even my other-half helped me to find something to eat for dinner quick so I wouldn't fall to temptation.
) and help one another get to the finish line.

No offense, but does your husband still have the same doctor? My mom's brother (aged 57) drove himself to the hospital on his way to work last year because of chest pain. He ended having a quintuple bypass, and his doctor insisted he start an Atkins type plan right away. Unfortunately, he hasn't been able to stick with this kind of WOE, and has had to have another stent put in since then.
