NEWBIE - tried to lose for so long - now I try Atkins

After I had my daughter, I couldn't lose the weight. She turned 4 in May, so that excuse can no longer be used. I even started running and watched what I ate, but never got below 170lb. each time so I kept giving up. My sister was in town this weekend and has had the same problem as me until she started the Aitken's diet. Now I am totally committed. I started yesterday, bought the book today and started the induction today. Since yesterday I lost a few pounds!!

I had the same problem! Atkins is the only thing that works for me. I am restarting atkins after going AWOL for about 4 days. I feel really really cruddy and it was just a reminder of how I used to feel. So I am back. And good thing too I've gained a couple of pounds back. BUT I am back before it gets out of hand!
      Good Luck to you!

i too had to stop using the "baby weight" excuse (mine are now 23 and 19) however i have found that atkins is the only thing i have been able to stick too.. i dont know if its the 1. not hungry or just the food 2. meat eggs chees salad - however it works.. also i have found this board is just full of amazing support and encouragement.. come here often, ask questions, read everything.. YOU CAN DO IT !

Congrats, Margaret! I'm doodette and a newbie, too ... I refuse to weigh myself until Sept. 1, that'll be a full month since starting Atkins ... I already feel better now that I'm not carbed-out to the max!
