  • New to Board

Hello fellow Atkineers (and the like )....

Well, I am new to this board and wanted to come in and introduce myself.

My name is Pati. I live in Chicago with my wonderful husband and our 2 kids.

I restarted Atkins induction for the umpteenth time and hopefully for the last time. I am pretty knowledged when it comes to this WOE but love the support one can find online so I thought why not make this a home for me.

Well, I am currently going through a bad induction flu but I am used to this as I have done it plenty of times. I just hope this is the last.

    Thanks for having me

Welcome!! :waving: And me too!! Except for being in Chicago with a husband and kids.. but the induction flu is hitting me hard!!

I re-started today for the who-knows-which-one'th time.. And I almost lost it to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I figured I'd take the headache today while I'm pissy about eating a salad (which isn't that bad) and get over this flu thing quick so I can start excercising. Or at least walk without being winded LoL

      Thanks for the welcome!

I am right there with ya on the exercising! I can not function for the first 3 days on induction let alone exercise!

          Re: New to Board

Hey Pati: I wouldn't worry to much about how many times you start over, but the fact that you are doing it. I started induction more times than I can count but this time I'm doing some things different.

#1 was joining this board. These folks are awesome. The encouragement you receive is out of this world and I'm so very pleased that I found them.

Second, I begin to keep a food journal. I try to write down everything I eat, how I felt and some other stuff that's important to me. This has helped me tremendously because it helps me to realize a lot of things the most recent one being that I normally undereat and I don't get my full carbs per day.

The last thing I would say is to read the board and participate. I've found out that even if I undereat carbs on Atkins I could still stiffle my metabolism. I didn't realize this.

And the very last thing I would say is read the rules for beginners and find all the recipes. People here have gotten very creative with what foods they have to work with. Especially, induction foodstuff. Yesterday I was stuck and I was tired of my usual fare until I read about the "hot wing" recipe which is basically melted butter and hot sauce. I couldn't wait to get home to try this. My dry little chicken tasted so much better!

          So welcome!
