The first time I ever felt really good about myself was when I started college and got into Atkin's about 8 years ago. I looked great and felt great and was really careful for about 3-4 years. Sometime during graduate school I got more sloppy and now, 2 years after grad school, I have been feeling out of control with my eating for a while now. I finally got together the motivation to start on Atkin's again 1 week ago. So, a week into induction, I'm saying hello. I swung by my parent's house to get my tried and true copy of Atkin's and am rereading it. I'm in the purples on the ketosis strips and though I've just lost 2 pounds (probably water weight), I'm feeling confident that my weight will come off for good.
Here's one reason I'm proud of myself today: I had a meeting from 8 am to noon today. It's a boring meeting and the highlight is usually the food: bagels, muffins, etc. Today I woke up a bit earlier than usual and made myself an omelet. Halfway through I got hungry and snacked on a low carb bar in my purse (hey, better than a bagel, right?) and I didn't even feel tempted to peruse the breakfast table.
So that's my long intro. I haven't figured out how to get this stuff on my signature so I'll just write it in.
