  • Not Working?!

    Hi everyone, Im new here, this is only my second week and Im getting a little frustrated cause I read how everyone one else looses 5-10 pds there first week, I know everybodys different but Ive only lost 3pds. This is what I usually eat:
    Breakfast: scrambled egg
    Lunch: salad w/ cheese and reg dressing
    snack: peeporoni n cheese
    dinner: meat with a salad
    snack: sometimes a have a s/f jello
    6-8 glasses of water
    I do drink pop but its diet

    If any one has any advice id love to hear it!
    P.S. I was eating peanuts til I just found out i wasnt suppose to in intro.

      You didn't list the portions of what you're eating so maybe you're not eating enough. If that's the case, your body will go into starvation mode and keep you from losing as fast as you could.
      You also didn't tell us how much you have to lose. If it's not much, you will lose slower. In short, we need more information.

        Is your soda caffeinated? Caffeine can prohibit weight loss with some people (not everyone)

          i need to loose about 75lbs, and I think im eating enough
          eggs-2
          salad 2cups, cheese (i dont know maybe a handful of shredded)
          snack: 5 slices of pepperoni, and 5 cubes of cheese( not the whole cube but sliced up- im not good at measuring)
          dinner: chicken breast, steak, sausage

            I am going through the same situation...This is my 24th day on the plan (extended induction) and I have lost a total of 11 lbs.; this may sound like alot, but I reached this goal after the first 10 days on the plan and it suddenly stopped.

            My diet:

            Morning: 2 eggs and 3 strips of bacon. 1 cup of cofee with 1 tablespoon of non-dairy creamer (<1gram of carbs) and 2 paquets of splenda.
            snack: Mozzarella stick
            Lunch: 1 steak (medium size) sauteed in veg. oil with 1/2 an onion, 1 tablespoon of sour cream and 1 mozarella stick chopped in.
            Snack: 4 slices of hard salami and 3 cubes of provolone cheese. 1 cup of coffee with one tablespoon of heavy cream and 1 spenda.
            Dinner: 5 medium sauteed meatballs in veg oil. (made with 1 egg, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic and some parsley).

            Oh, and I am drinking just water, 64oz + a day.

            Can someone please give me some advise, I am still 31 lbs away from my goal!

              yes it is caffeine free. how often should i be weighing myself? I also just got my period but thats just yesterday, im just gonna get trying and hopefully see some results soon.

                Looks like yall may be eating too much cheese. You can only have 3 oz a day and some people cut it out altogether because it makes them stall. And be careful with onions and garlic too cause they are high in carbs.

                  I think you labor under a misapprehension. I don't think very many people lose 10 pounds their first week! Some may lose 5 but they know at least some of it is water.

                  I can't tell how much you want to lose total, to start with. Three pounds would be fantatic if you only need to lose 30, 40 pounds, still okay if you want to lose 50, 60... give us an idea of where you are at, okay?

                  Pepperoni is legal.. full of salt too. Watch that.. Atkins is a natural diuretic but you can still throw off the balance if you eat too much salt.

                    Also wanted to add the pepperoni and salami can sometimes have ingredients in them that don't make them legal... sorry I don't eat either, but I have read it and also remember reading about it in the book, so it is best to eat fresh cooked meat.. .hope that makes since... also both of those meats have SODIUM.. which can stall weight loss. Some sodium is okay, but processed meats and can foods generally have alot of sodium and/or sugars the more sodium they add the more sugar they add and therefor the more you want to eat of it.

                    Hopefully someone else will chime in.

                      Flarese, the closer you get to goal, the more weight loss will slow down. It is a matter of proportion, or percentage. Each pound you lose takes longer because it is a larger percentage of your mass. Just stick to the program.. you know it works, your body is going to fight to hold on.. our systems like to hold on to fat cells to nourish babies. Give it time and trust it will happen. Keep moving, keep eating, keep on keeping on!

                        Thankyou everyone, I will definately cut back on the pepporoni and the cheese. I want to loose 70-75pds. So what are some snacks that you can eat, I work full time and have three kids so I dont always have time to cook and just need to grab something especially for a snack.

                          I will not give up!! i refuse to let that idea cross my mind; I will just have to live with the fact that it will take longer; it is what it is.

                            Well Im glad to say I was WRONG this really does work!!! I weighed in today which is my 12th day and Im down 13lbs. and I feel so good about it. Thanks everyone for the advise and I really think it helped when I cut out all the cheese and pepporoni.

                              I would try to cut out the soda completely and not eat the pepperoni as it is a processed meat. Perhaps you can eat is later.
