  • Point me toward the veggies please

    Here I sit after a couple months of trying to eat "healthy". Ok, now I have to admit it wasn't all healthy all the time. But I was really trying to watch what I ate. And now here I sit afraid to get on the scale, but knowing that I weigh more than I did when I started this "healthy" eating!

    So I'm back on Atkins. I tried it before but I didn't give it 100% so I failed with that one too. I've seen your stories and successes and it's encouraging, so I'm here to really try to make this work for me.

    I'm off to learn about the board now!

    Welcome to ADBB, Allie.

    It would be a good idea to bite the bullet and step on the scale, so that you can compare your weight now with the weight you'll have at the end of Induction. I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised.

    Take body measurements too, because sometimes the scale is stubborn and mean, even though the body is shrinking.

      Oh I know I'll have to bite that bullet. In fact the scales are out and dusted off, I just have to step on them! I definitely want to be able to jump for joy about every pound I lose on induction.

        I have a very difficult relationship with scales too. So I sympathize.
        But I do know where the veggies are kept.

            Welcome to the board, Allie!

            Atkins is the best diet there is and if you do a clean, 14 day induction, you will be delighted with the results. So just tell yourself that it's only for 2 weeks out of a lifetime and by then, you will be hooked!

            Keep us posted on your progress!

                    Give to 2 weeks doing it 100% and you will be hooked as the
                    other poster said, I have not weighed myself since I started, thus
                    my ticker has not moved, However my belt is tightened up 4 (four)
                    notches !!!! It works !

                      A God send to me for someone who dose not like veggies

                      Mix the following together:

                      1/2 Cup Libby's Pure Pumpkin (NOT pie filling which has sugar)
                      1 Tablespoon butter
                      1 Tablespoon heavy whipping cream
                      1/4 Teaspoon pumpkin spice
                      1 Packet of Splenda

                      1 Tablespoon cream cheese if desired

                      Heat in the microwave for 15 seconds. Stir. Heat another 15 seconds. Yummy.

                      (Note - heating times may vary slightly depending on microwave)

                      Not my recipe but will save me : )

                        Wow, that's wonderful, Koober! I'm really excited about the idea of what I can do if I stick with this, so hopefully that enthusiasm will continue. My problem is usually when I'm bored or when fast food seems like a good alternative to actually making something. The recipes that are on here sure make the burgers and fries seem pretty sad though!
