  • Hello

At 26, with a very loving g/f and thoughts of what might be coming in the future, and with the concern of my family recently brought to my attention by my mom (they always know how to jerk at the heart strings), I've decided to really dedicate all my efforts into losing weight. I've done Atkins before with some moderate success but I always seem to fall off the wagon and go back to my harmful ways.

My name is Shane. I'm from Cincinnati, OH. This forum is great and has endless amounts of information. I am quite thankful to be here.

Hi and welcome back to Atkins Shane --

Regardless of what you did before, or what people are doing now, your body is different than anyone so it’s best not to compare. Look around and find what interests you and join in. Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support. Hopefully this time you will find what kept you from reaching your goal and you'll get there!!

The plan works when you follow it the way it was written -- hopefully you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase one. Get enough pure water in daily (64oz is recommended), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin.

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out! Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily.

              Re: Hello

Welcome! I like your name, it made me smile. I too am a second time arounder, and know the dangers of falling off the wagon. Just try to think about what made you fall last time and don't let that happen this time! If you fall off the wagon this time, don't just lay there in the dirt. Go chase after that wagon! Get back on it! It's a fun wagon!
