Hi! I've done Atkins and failed it many times, but now that I've lost 30 pounds without actually even doing Atkins, I think I am capable of doing this. I'm at the point where I'm at a standstill and I don't like that feeling. I know with being conscientious about what I eat, I know I will be able to do this. No, I'm not trying to lose weight to look amazing, but that is a definite plus, I'm doing it because I know if I stay at the weight I'm at, I'll be screwed for the rest of my life.
One, I cannot get Diabetes, that is something I have to avoid. There is no way in heck I want to lose the only Kidney I have and sit on a Dialysis machine 3 days a week. *shudder*
Anyway, I'm not happy with myself with how I am, so ya. I am motivated to do this and I want to thank a friend at work for giving me that motivation. I mean, if he can lose so much weight in a year, eating healthy, so can I.

PS- I'm sure a lot of you remember me, ha ha.

If you were trying to lose, then okay I understand wanting to shake up a standstill. Just know that this isnt a short term fix and if you do decide to go back to higher carb eating later, the pounds seem to pile on faster. This is a life choice. Thats why going up through the OWL rungs is important - so you can do Atkins in a way that will allow you to stick with it later.
