hi everyone, i have just started living the atkins way of life and health.

    i am a 51 year old female, 5'4" and weigh 14 stone 1lb.
my doctor advised me to lose 2 stone, as my blood pressure is on the high side and i would rather not take medication.

i started the preparation 10 days ago and have been following the diet properly for 3 days.

since eating this way, i have noticed i have a lot more energy and patience. i intend to keep going, although i am afraid to weigh myself at the moment just in case i have put weight on: it is hard to believe i can lose weight by eating all this good food.

    i am trusting you all

        Welcome to the Atkins Board.

This is a delicious way to loose weight! I see we are the same age - welcome - we need more "over 50" ladies here!! Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and take a multi-vitamin. If you haven't already, read the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR).

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out! Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - eat enough vegetables - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily.
Many of us use www.Fitday.com to track our food so we know what our carb totals are for the day. It's important you know what you are eating and how many carbs you are taking in each day.

Any and all questions can and will be answered - all you have to do is ask!! Good luck.

Hi sports,Welcome to ADBB. Its probably a good idea not to weigh for awhile. On this plan more than others my weight tends to bob up and down the scale more. But I also lose more in the long term too! DO also check your measurements. DO it carefully so you can measure in the same spot the next time. Often the measurements tell the tale more than the scale.

          GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)

          FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.
