Hi all. New to forum. Very familiar and have followed Atkins for off and on several years now. Have had great success....untill last 6 months. Just can't seem to get engaged. I thought if I reengaged with some comrades it might help.

So I do need to start induction all over.

I'm short guy at 5'6" and an uncomfortable 175, 3lbs shy from the heaviest I've been...ugh.

I was about 155 2 years ago. We were living in Colorado then, and could Mtn bike every day. Loved it. Since moving here to Illiniois 14 months ago, I've maintained around 162 - 166. But a couple of business trips, and trying to find the right intensity in my workouts ( I follow a very intense bodyweight routine 2 - 3 times a week) as mess me all up. I've at 175, feel bloated and helpless.

I still exercise regularly. at 46, I know there has to be the right balance between Exercise, Rest, and Diet. I seem to always lose 5 - 10 lbs easy, then, lose focus....or something, and can't get below 160.....that is my sticking point.

So..............enough talk. Time for some action, focus, perseverence.

    Re: Newbie

Welcome dobbsm. One help is to adopt this as a lifestyle rather than a diet. Then there is no getting off track, there is just getting back to normal after an odd day.

    FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

          Re: Newbie

Thanks all for the kind words. Lifestyle is the key, and get rid of the word diet from my vocabulary. I'll definetly work on that part. I guess my main downfall after great success is I get complacent...cheat a little more. Then the snacks aren't good anymore unless they are salty, crunchy, then sweet, then sweeter. Then I'm inhaling everything...yikes.

Ok, Ok, I can do this. I appreciate the support and encouragement. It is very cool that there are so many more tools such as Fitday, pretty neat so you can see where you stand with your intake. Like this evening before leaving work, I called my wife and asked here whats for dinner. I plugged in the info, to see where that puts me for the day and know I can only eat so much of each veggie before I even get home.

Looking forward to searching out some new snack recipes here on the bb.

          Thanks again.
