Re: Just started today
I have looked at the book but I can't say I have read it yet. Trying to get my water in but finding it hard. I joined a gym and plan to go at least 3 times a week for cardio. Pre baby I used to go 5 days a week and do 6 miles. I know I can do it just finding time now is the hardest part.

I have a lot more to lose, but at least I lost the 30# I gained with my last pregnancy.

>>I have looked at the book but I can't say I have read it yet.>>
How do you expect to know how to "do" Atkins then? <smile>
>>My goal is 2-3 pounds a week. >>
That's unfortunate. You're likely to be disappointed. Women statistically lose 1/2 to 1 pound a week.
And since you don't have very much to lose, you're not likely to lose so much so quickly.
Also, weight loss isn't linear ... we very seldom lose at a specific rate.
>>So far Im doing ok but its only been a half a day.>>
What have you had to eat/drink?
Have you read:
Are you planning on doing Atkins for life or is this just a diet to lose the baby weight?J.

Re: Just started today
Well I do know most of the diet as my father has been on it for years and I used to make the recipies and pay attention to what is and isn't allowed. My goal is not unrealistic I have done it in the past and will be able to do it again my pound estimate is just a oal I am setting for myself. I have never had a hard time loosing weight before. I do not plan to stay stricly atkins but plan to conrol my carbs as I have always done previous to my pregnacy. I have had the atkins shake for breakfast one for lunch with cucumbers and mozz cheese. I plan to eat a salad with chicken for dinner in case you wanted to know that too! I came here for support and your judgement is unwanted.

Good for your father!
Did he read the book?
>>I do not plan to stay stricly atkins>>
Understood.
>>I came here for support and your judgement is unwanted.>>
I didn't judge anything.
I asked some questions.
It's hard to help someone without knowing some of the background!
I know you "know most of the diet" ... so you probably already know that having the shakes as meal replacements isn't a good idea.
Not that I was judging what you're eating!!
I do wish you all the luck in the world on your journey though.J.

Re: Just started today
Sorry to be so defensive but you did come accross rather harsh. Yes I would rather eat a meal in the morning but unfortunatly I lack the time in the morning having to get my son ready and make it to work in the morning. I already get up at 5:30am. Something in the morning is better that waiting until lunch to eat. I apprciate the fact that you are trying to help. I am doing this the best way I know how with the time I have avaliable to me. And yes he did read the book a couple of times and I have referanced the book several times as to know what foods are and are not allowed.

You could make something like an egg casserole and then you can just microwave a piece. You could also get up 15 minutes earlier. You could have left over dinner.J.

Re: Just started today
amorrell, Hi & welcome to the boards. I am new myself. I posted my intro just this past week & atkinsgal08 had a similiar style with me... please don't take it personal. I think she? is just very knowledgeable on the Atkins plan and might not convey that in the nicest/best way. She does have tremendous knowledge and helpful tips so please don't be discouraged by her posts.... and discontinue posting here. There are so many other posts and people that will encourage you and root for you. I have 50 lbs to lose; I never kept the baby weight off & actually weigh 20lbs more now, than when I was in labor. So, my luck and prayers are with you. Read some of the other threads & you will see the 14 day induction foods.... that might be helpful. I lost 2 lbs in just 2 days so far following it. Good luck on your journey!

Re: Just started today
you can eat anything you want for breakfast - it doesn't have to be eggs. Leftovers are good to have for any meal.
Plan your meals for a fews days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Eat only foods listed on the acceptable food list and eat a variety of foods and vegetables. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) Good luck doing your version of Dr. Atkins plan.Carole_____________________May Water 130oz daily
