Hi all! I was really glad to find this forum. A little about me - I am 40 years old with a wonderful wife I have been married to for 14 years, and two boys. I own a life and health insurance agency, and am also a professional sax player.
I did the Atkins diet for about 5 months back in 2000 and lost 60 pounds, then I got off the diet and never looked back. I had lost down to 330 pounds at that time, and now I have ballooned up to 489 and just turned 40. I have dieted and dieted for years, but the only diet I was ever able to stay on for more than a couple of weeks was Atkins. When I graduated high school, I was 215 and looking good. I want to get back to that weight!
I have been looking into gastric bypass, but instead, I have joined a gym with a personal trainer three times a week (spent a lot on that) and am going to make this happen. This is my last option before I consider surgery, and that is something I don't want to do unless I have to. I am heading to the grocery store in the morning and Day One begins tomorrow!
I have a blog that I am going to keep along the way (in my signature). I know many of you have used this program successfully and being a part of your community will help me in the area of accountability. My wife and two boys are counting on me and are behind me 100%. They are my biggest motivation.
Thanks for letting me be a part and I hope to make some real friends here along the way! God bless!
