  • Just starting-A Little Nervous

    So..Im just getting ready to start Atkins, I guess this is my 2nd time around. The first time I only got 3 days into induction and found out i was preggo, So i dont really consider that as a "1st try". Im really excited to get started..only thing that worries me is sticking to it! Right now im living with my MIL while my husband and I are looking for a house, and They are the "eat whatever you want, never gain weight bunch". I have been working out and recently (past 3 weeks) started eating healthier and working on my portion control. Im hoping this will help prep me for the food/portions on Atkins.

    Does anyone have any advice for recipes? Especially for Breakfast and Lunchs...My morning consists of getting Myself, 2 children ages 1 and 4 ready and I need somthing thats pretty simple to throw together for lunch and easy to make for breakfast!

    Hey there! Welcome aboard!

    You should check out the recipe section if you haven't already done that... lots of yummy stuff there.

    For me, I'm all about quick and easy. I often pepare eggs (hard boiled, or a scramble mix) ahead of time and have them ready to go. Or I'll make jicima oatmeal in advance and that will last a few days.

    I ALWAYS have a prepared salad w/ all my favorite fixings in the fridge. I'll usally have about a cup or so of salad, some leftover meat, or a can of albacore, etc and throw it on top. Good, easy and filling.
    I actually usually take 2 mini salads to work with me most days. Sometimes I eat them both, sometimes I don't.

    Dinner is usually a meat and veggie. I spice it up with different things but over all that's what I do.

    Food is easy, just don't be afraid to have variety!

    Officially Re-Focusing on 12-28-09.

    Was, Am, Will be: 280/222/175ish.
    Started Dec 2005 and lost 105 lbs by mid 2006, maintained loss for the most part until 2009...then really let go & gained some back... lol

    so:
    Restart Progress:
    12/28/09 ~ 235.1
    01/04/10 ~ 229.0
    01/11/10 ~ 229.0 Grrrrr....
    (Induction= only 6lbs but lost 10 inches! yay)
    01/18/10 ~ 227.4
    01/5/10 ~ 226.8
    02/01/10 ~ 222.6

      If I know I'm not going to have time in the morning, I make sure there's leftover dinner or I make an egg casserole ... you can just heat up a chunk in the microwave.

          Thanks for warm welcome! Im going to check out the links and look for some good egg base casseroles. Thats a great idea!!

          -Also, Are any of you working out while on Atkins? If so what type of workout do you do?

            Hello & Welcome "Back" To Atkins & The Forum !!!

            I have lost a Wonderful 8 clothes sizes (18 to 10) since starting The Atkins Program over a year ago on 1/1/09.

            If I can do this at 47y/o with a limited ability to exercise do to having Lupus & Nerve Dammage after a Motorcycle Accident 5yr's ago you can do this too !!!

            We have have alot going on around here 24/7 it may be sharing our stories or giving & reciving information & we have a lot of fun in the process !!!

              Hello!
              YES we absolutely workout on Atkins!

              You'll find that there's tons of different things we do for exercise.

              Pick something you like and do it. I swear I wouldn't have ever lost a pound if I wasn't exercising ...
