    Hi everyone,

My name is Karin, heights 5.4inch and I have been on the induction for 3 weeks now. When I started I weighed 58kg(128lbs) and in the second week I went down to 56kg(123.5lbs) and now I have gone up to 60kg(133.66lbs).

I don't seem to be losing weight or centimeters. I am follwing the diet to the "T", so I don't know what I am doing right. In the second week I had the atvantage bars once a day, and thought that that might have been the cause of no weight loss. I am not having them anymore, please tell me what I am doing wrong and how I can start losing weight.

Thinking of going of the diet, cause Im scared that I will be picking up to much weight.

    Desperate, please help!

    Welcome to ADBB!

    What's your goal weight?

And why have you been doing Induction for so long? You should have moved to OWL on day 15.

Are you reading Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution (2002)?

      Karin Welcome
Don't be so desperate - sounds like you are in great shape there. This diet takes some patient sometimes -especially when you already are within a healthy BMI.

Can you tell us in more detail about your meals, drinks and exercise. And then we may be able to help you. Is it time for your period right now? Did you have a very salty meal?

      Hang in there lady.

So you lost 5lbs then gained 10? Something sounds off. Definitely post your menu. I bet the ladies here can figure it out. Don't give up. It works, sometimes you just have to tweak something small to get it back on track.

How much pure water are you drinking each day? Good for you giving up the bars - they aren't allowed on induction if you are following the same book we are here. What else are you drinking? The minimum for pure water is 64 ounces daily.

Have you read the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution book?

              Hallo,

I drink more than 64 ounces a day. I drink a cup of decafinated(level spoon) coffee with unsweetened soya milk with less then 0.3carb per glass, and the same at night. Now and then I will have a shapers no carb flavoured water.

I am definetely reading the same book

Soymilk is not on the allowed list in the book. Also I would add something fatty like full fat cream. You need fat.
Also no carb - does not mean that you can have it. It may be loaded with artificial sweeteners that just will be hampering your progress.
I still suggest you share your full menu with us. It is not always easy to get into the spirit of things with Atkins - especially if we have tried to lose with other plans.

                  Hi everyone,

For breakfast I would have 2 fried eggs fried in butter or 3 egg omelette with bacon or 1 or 2 ounce cheese, water and a cup of coffee with ither skimmed milk or 2 tsp of double cream.

                  Or

                  2 fried eggs and bacon

or atkins diet protein bread with 1/2 and avocado

Lunch: chicken salad made of 2 x chicken breast with skin baked with olive oil, 2 x hard boiled eggs, cup of salad leaves with half a hand full of cucumber and home made salad dressing made of 1 x tblsp of Hellmans full fat mayonaise and olive oil. water all day long.

Or salmon salad instead of chicken
or an omlette with meat and cheese in it or with 1/2 an avocado

Snack: 1 or 2 ounces cheese and sometimes cooked prawns

Dinner: Salmon grilled or steak or chicken or scallops and prawns with olive oil in an omlette(made in butter or olive oil alot) made with 3 x eggs, cup of spinnach leaves and eggs and water and a cup of decaffinated coffee and soya milk

I eat more or less the same every day, but I do eat steak and other meats aswell and i do eat alot of natural fats(olive oil, butter, cream)

So I don't really know where I do go wrong.

I do take a laxative called Dulcolax every day, cause I get constipated even when drinking alot of water and I eat flaxeed and take psyllinium husk every day.

Please help me, I don't know where I go wrong.

What's in this? Bread isn't allowed on Induction.

Are you getting most of your daily net carbs from Induction vegetables?

                      Re: Desperate

Your breakfast: Milk is not allowed on induction. Atkins has a full fat cream allowance for those who need something in their coffee.
Egg in butter is good - cannot go wrong with that.

So is protein bread like revolution rolls? made with eggs? I seem to remember seeing that recipe somewhere.

Lunch looks really good. Just watch that cheese - Atkins does allow 4 ounces but some us need to cut that down further.
                      Dinner looks good too

                      BUT
you are not eating enough substential veggies. Do some variation from the leaves. Try something with more fiber. Mix things up.

Not great to eat a laxitive every day. Have you research this med (I know nothing about it) Dependency may be one issue. With others maybe question of how the body will absorb things. So check it out

How much flax do you take?
Flax does not work for my constipation - it just clogs things up. I prefer to use vegetables and exercise.

Your menu overall does not look bad. I suggest you run it through a program like FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal and see how your procentages turn out and how many calories you are consuming. Report back.

Hang in there. We will try to help

2 tbl so splenda is alot - so keep servings small and count your sweetener limit.

Thanks for coming back to me!

Well, I don't have the whole bread at once. The bread lasts for a week, I only have two thin pieces a day, usually in the morning.

I haven't lost any weight yet Is it because I don't really do any exercise? I have got a very busy job and I do try to go but never seem to make the gym in time. What exercise should I do to loose weight? I go about once a week to a 45min spinning class?

What about mayonaise- sometimes I have 2 tblsp a day or I make my own with olive oil, eggs little salt and pepper and a 1tsp of lemon juice? How much am I allowed to have of homemade mayonaise?

It's not allowed on Induction, regardless.

There's really not a limit ... just count the carbs.

2 Tbs. of granular Splenda would be more than the limit of 3 servings allowed per day.

                              Are you reading the book?
