Well, here goes...
I started the Atkins diet on January 25th, 2010 in hopes to take my life back from the weight I put on over a number of years.
In a previous life I was tiny no matter what I ate and then I starting having children. I became ill for my first child which resulted in gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia and hospital bed rest for more than a month. The weight from the pregnancy stayed and never left after each baby (4 of them).
I was stuck at 180lbs for a long time (and hated it), but after major changes in my life (becoming a full time working single mom of 4) I started to put on weight until I hit 'bottom'.
My weight on January 25th was 225lbs. I want to get down to 140lbs, but sometimes I still think that's just a pipe-dream. I'm getting terribly bored of the same foods and I lack ... imagination I suppose on how to get variety.
It takes me A LOT of will power as I have 4 children to feed firstly (ages 11 to 15) so I make their meals and feed them before I do things for myself. I haven't had any of it yet even though it always smells soooooo good
I did not take before pictures or even measurements. I am far too disgusted with myself to even think about doing that unfortunately, so of course I can't see my success at this time.
I lost 15lbs during induction and I'm now a tad stuck so I've decided to go for extended induction.
I have the books of course, I bought them a few days before I started but I am hoping that jumping on board here might help me keep trying and not fall off the wagon.
Thanks for reading my boring book if you made it this far!
