  • Re-starting Atkins

    Hi Everyone!
I am not new to the Atkins diet, but I am new to these forums. I am usually a pretty shy person, but I am putting myself out there now. I am starting a 6 week Atkins challenge for myself. Not, because I don't have much to lose, but because I need to make short term goals and complete them! I have done well in the past with Atkins and that coupled with the fact that I will be turining 30 is enough to motivate me. I hope I will get support and advice on this forum. Also, if you care to follow me through the challenge, I started a blog:

    The Atkins Challenge

    Thanks!

I was shy too when I joined this board but look at me now! I've been here over 2 years!

That's a good idea, starting a challenge. They are what keep me going!

Good luck to you on your personal challenge. Remember: Eat foods on the acceptable food list, exercise, take a no-iron vitamin and drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water. Check Linda's recipe site – wonderful recipes that will keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

If you need anything we try to help each other here as much as possible.

            Thanks Everyone!

Speaking of vitamins, is it okay to take the GNC ultra mega women's vitamin? It has all kinds of extracts from fruit and veggies but I am not sure if that will impact blood sugar?

              Does it have iron?

Yes it does, 18mcgs...100% of the daily value...not good, right?

                  Re: Re-starting Atkins

Dr. Atkins does say we should take a multi without iron, unless you have different iron needs.

Also, I bet you're spending more $$ on the GNC than you need to, but that's a different issue!
