Hello all! My name is Alyne and I am a wife and mother of 2 and one on the way. My oldest daughter will be 5 this May and my youngest will be 2 on March 25th. I am here to see all the different opinions about weight-loss and what not and find the best way for me to lose. I mainly want to lose the weight for my health but especially for my children, to set a better example for them. I didn't have the right guidance growing up so I am trying my best to give it to my girls. Thanks for having me and I look forward to hearing from others!

Remember ... losing is only the first part ... keeping it off is the "for life" part!
If you haven't, I would urge you to read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002) and see if Atkins is a way of eating for you for life.J.

Good for you for examining your options now, but do follow the others' advice about not dieting stringently while pregnant. I can tell you that I am not hungry, my cholesterol and triglycerides are terrific on ATKINS. My sugar levels are good, my allergies, reflux and energy levels are all improves on Atkins and I even found my PMS improved. I wish I could say I follow it perfectly but I have not, even so I have lost 70 pounds and maintained my loss for several years.

Yes I know I should not diet yet. Just getting prepared for it. If I don't focus my mind on it now, I will not later. Never been on an actual diet. I have a hard time doing it alone, so I figured if I didn't try I wouldn't fail. But I know now that is silly and I can do it as long as I believe in myself.
