  • My Intro.

    Hello all! My name is Alyne and I am a wife and mother of 2 and one on the way. My oldest daughter will be 5 this May and my youngest will be 2 on March 25th. I am here to see all the different opinions about weight-loss and what not and find the best way for me to lose. I mainly want to lose the weight for my health but especially for my children, to set a better example for them. I didn't have the right guidance growing up so I am trying my best to give it to my girls. Thanks for having me and I look forward to hearing from others!

    You shouldn't be doing any of the weight loss phases of Atkins while pregnant.

    Remember ... losing is only the first part ... keeping it off is the "for life" part!

    If you haven't, I would urge you to read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002) and see if Atkins is a way of eating for you for life.

      welcome to ADBB. yep Dr Atkins says none of his weight loss phases are for preggo folk. congrats n your soon to be 3.

        I actually will give the same advice as others so no diet in the pregnancy.Wish you all the best with no:3.

          If you are looking for advise on not gaining much weight or loosing while pregnant I would suggest you talk to your doctor and find what he suggests. Congratulations on the addition to your family and good luck to you!

            Good for you for examining your options now, but do follow the others' advice about not dieting stringently while pregnant. I can tell you that I am not hungry, my cholesterol and triglycerides are terrific on ATKINS. My sugar levels are good, my allergies, reflux and energy levels are all improves on Atkins and I even found my PMS improved. I wish I could say I follow it perfectly but I have not, even so I have lost 70 pounds and maintained my loss for several years.

              Yes I know I should not diet yet. Just getting prepared for it. If I don't focus my mind on it now, I will not later. Never been on an actual diet. I have a hard time doing it alone, so I figured if I didn't try I wouldn't fail. But I know now that is silly and I can do it as long as I believe in myself.
