New to Atkins..12 lbs lost in ONE week! ^_^

  • New to Atkins..12 lbs lost in ONE week! ^_^

    I haven't read the book yet, but I have been sticking to the induction rules from the Atkins website... Is reading the book really necessary? Im just so busy with my daughters and going to school full time!

    I had a doctors appointment on 2/19/10 and I was weighed at 202lbs and on 2/27/10 I checked my weight at my cousins house and the scale said 190! I had a hard time believing it so I had 4 other family members test the scale and it was accurate! I was just wondering if the weight loss will now slow down a whole lot?.. I would at least like to see 3 lbs gone every week! Is that aiming to high??

    I also been eating the Atkins bar and shakes these last couple of days but I just now read that a lot of people say it slows down weight loss?? If that is the case, I could use some tips for on the go snacks to help me through the day while Im at school. Thanks..

    Those rules are different than the ones followed here. We follow the Rules as written by Dr. Atkins in the 2002 edition of the book.

    I've never known ANYONE to be successful achieving their goals without a copy that they've read ... and owned.

    Women lose at the statistical rate of 1/2 to 1 pound per week.

    Not really recommended during Induction. Most of the bars contain ingredients not allowed on Induction.

    Anything from the Induction food list can be a snack.

      Absolutely the book is necessary because the website is run by the Atkins corporation and they do not follow the good doctor's original intent. They advocate tha bars and shakes and many things that are known stallers for many folks. Do read the book. You are only getting a small part of the story on the site. Welcome to ADBB.

        Stay away from the bars and shakes at least during induction their not allowed.

          I don't know how different you are eating following their rules compared to the 2002 rules but if you want to follow it the way this board does read the stickies we have here. They give a quick run down of the 2002 rules of induction and all phases of the plan. 12lbs in one week is amazing!
