Re: This is it! Day One!

Hi everyone! I have been following Atkins so far to a T and I checked my scale last night. It said 3 pounds gone? I even checked it this morning cause I thought it was wrong! Like I said, I am following all the rules. Even though I'm sure it's water weight (like the book said), but still, is it too much to lose so quickly? Is this already the results showing so quickly or did I lose that because of before I dieted? Just curious! Not used to seeing results like this!

Eat what you can now and save the rest for a snack. If you are still not hungry enough to finish it as a snack, have two snacks between lunch and dinner. You may not be hungry, but eat the veggies unles it makes you nauseas. You are training your body to eat every few hours and that always helps your metabolism. Some people on ADBB mention that they cannot eat very much, as their bodies do not let them eat without feeling sick, but that will wear off. Just eat what you can and try to get as many veggies in as you can without going over your carb limit.

Can I ask why you are measuring your veggies with tablespoons? Do you have a food scale? My food scale saved my life with regards to measuring correctly and they are only $10-20. You shoudl really consider getting one as measuring foods in tablespoons can get really tedious and flawed.

I agree. I have no doubt mine is water too. Like I said, I follow the diet to the T, and I am hoping this will continue. All my friends wonder if I'm on a diet cause they see me eating really good food. Well, I get a craving for tater tots of all things. But I keep visualizing the end result. That is the only thing that keeps me from cheating!

hang in there a former admin here lose zero pounds during her 14 day induction even following all the rules perfectly, but 10 months later she was a goalie cause she just kept on working her atkins and all the phases too.

what are you doing as that mandatory exercise part of your atkins? did you measure to see if you are sheding inches as you morph your body doing atkins? we had a person who lost lots during her 14 days of induction and then the sclaes stopped moving but in a yr she had lost 5 feet of inches even though that scales said she only dropped 40 pounds. She went from marshmellow woman to a fit women adding lean body mass as she got in better shape and moved around more.
