    Well hello to you, gentle reader. I was eating low carb a couple years back, did really well, and then moved to Mexico where it was impossible to maintain.

    Anywhoo... I'm back into living la low carb life and I think I've messed up some things as I'm frozen at this weight and haven't lost (although the scale goes up and down over the same three pounds) for a full month of my three months eating low carb. The inches are also at a stall out. I did start exercising a week or so ago (c25k), and I've always swam several times a month. I'm conscientious about logging my water, what I eat, and my exercise, the Low Carb Diet Assistant app on the iPhone is AMAZING (although it doesn't log exercise).

    Basically, I've moved up the rungs (freakily in the correct order), without even knowing what they were. Because I kept thinking I was on induction still; I haven't gone above 20 net carbs (very recently 25). I've just eaten lower carby veggies and had room within the 20 for extra veggies, fresh cheeses, nuts, the occasional gin and diet tonic (2 in total), and twice so far ¼ cup of black beans. I've had a total of 8 Atkin's products (shakes or bars) in the last two months, so I don't think that's what's stalling me.

    I guess I'd just like y'alls advice.

    They're not until OWL Rung 6.

    What I would do if I was you, would be read Chapter 14 in my DANDR, and start adding net carbs, as you are supposed to.

    The aim of Atkins isn't to stay within 20 net carbs forever.

    What's stalling you could be undereating.

      I hear that... I really ought to have learned more about what was next as opposed to what I can eat that's technically "on the diet." So, what you are saying, is that I need to back up and do a week of 25 net carbs with just the veggies (no fresh cheeses, nuts, etc.), and then up the ante over a month or so? That I'm trying to get to where I'm at now, but actually add the additional carbs every day so I can find the magic weight loss carby number?

      It's been a challenge to eat more carbs and not eat anything with sugar or sugar alcohols because my meals are so satisfying and around 5 - 7 carbs each (egg/veggie scramble then two meaty/fishy salads with dressing). So, when I am trying to get up to 25, it ends up having to be a snack that makes up the 5-10 carb difference... every day.

      I'm really not undereating, my calories have averaged 1,215 a day for the last month, fat 74 grams, avg net carbs 17, protien 98, sodium 2,102, and fiber 12. Did I mention that I love this app?

        You can still do that. Just start reading the book.

        That is undereating most likely ... a good rule of thumb is to eat at 10-12 times your current body weight in calories ... so for you that would be 1800 to 2160.

        Undereating, both in calories and/or carbs is counterproductive with Atkins.

        What I would suggest you do is to do an actual week or two of Rung 1 ... with 17-20 net carbs from Induction vegetables, and 25 net carbs total.

        See how that goes ... and then you can re-add the other foods you've been eating in the proper order and also adding 5 net carbs.

          Interesting... I'll have to go get some onions, asparagus, garlic, celery, or cabbage... All the veggies that rotted a couple month back when I stopped eating them because they had more than .5 carbs per serving.

            Why did you think that you had to limit yourself to Induction vegetables that were 0.5 carbs per serving?
