Re: New to atkins and I am excited

Yes net carbs, not simple or complex. Since I'm basically a meat eater and eatting very little veggies, other than two cup of organic salad with vinegar/oil my carbs are low. I will do this for another two weeks, thean introduce some veggies but not alot. I take vitamin supplements, B12, Bi0tin, Calcium with citrate, then multiple vitamins with minerals. I've been on a multiple vitamin for over 30 years. When I go on Atkins, I add B12, Biotin, Calcium with citrate.

Well it is not really Atkins then. The Atkins we follow include a lot of vegetables and most carbs should be from those. The book we follow is very clear on this. That is what we recommend here. That is what we do. We all eat a heap of veggies. Some of us a bit reluctant at first but we get there in time. There are many good things in veggies that you probably could not get from pills. Fiber is one such thing.
And we exercise - carefully at first but we try to do it. It is part of getting healthy: Cutting bad carbs, moving around, eating clean unprocessed foods. Its a Revolution

True, but I believe most people on this forum have taken the Atkins diet and modified it to their own personal needs. As long as I lose weight and achieve my goal, then I'll go into a good maintenance program. I've found that if I introduce all those veggies, I'll over eat and not stay on course.

I know few reliable programs that would think it is a good idea to cut out nutrients we need. I do know some people who do yes. But sometimes people do the stupiest things to lose weight. Usually just to put it right back and more. But of course I wish you the best. Make sure you get good stuff into that body. It is about health not weight.

            >>I just stay away from carbs, usually down to 5-10 a day.>>

            That's not Atkins ...

That's the point of OWL ... however, tweaking too early very often results in failure.

              Something other than Atkins maintenance?

How much of that 65 did you keep off?
