    Day 2 of Induction

Good morning all! Ok I am on day 2. I have tried this before with limited dedication and the resulting limited success. I finally wised up and bought the book. Spent the weekend reading it and was so excited I started a day earlier than planned.
I retired from the navy in 2004 and took a desk job. As a result my weight balooned from138 to 152. I then quit smoking and am now a whopping 167. This is the heaviest I have ever been and its terrifying. I am 5'5" and I feel really fat. I tried weightwatches for 6 months, walked for 30minuted every day at lunch along with riding and lost 5 lbs put it back on and have not budged. I remember my mom doing Adkins and having great success and my husband has had great success also. So it was a matter of doing what I have seen work.
I have enjoyed reading all the posts here and they provide a bottomless well of inspiration! Thank you to all of you!!

So here goes..I am off to a new way of eating.

Wow Julie You look amazing. That is so inspiring!
I am cooking for teenage boys tonight so I have to remember I don't need to taste everything I cook
Fortunately they are not here for every dinner but you don't even realize your tasting stuff untill its on its way to your mouth.
Once again thanksfor the welcome message

Kudo's for reading the book -- you are going to be so much more prepared than those who don't. Give induction 110% and you'll see great changes in yourself after the 2 weeks are up. Drink plenty of pure water (64oz nothing else counts), exercise and take a multi-vitamin daily.

I live with 2 people who aren't on Atkins so I understand how you feel about cooking for others -- it's not that bad - I don't miss tasting their food because what I cook tastes so much better to me!

Take care -- good luck and hope to see you here often!
