  • Hi

Hi everyone. I'm new here. Been considering Atkins for a few months and decided to give it a try a few days ago. So I stocked up my fridge and today is my official first day. Just thought I'd introduce myself I'm 24 and have been bouncing between 175 and 155 for the last few years, with no apparent cause. So I'd like to get my metabolism under control, stabilize my weight, and hopefully have more energy and sleep less (right now around 10-12 hours per day!). My all-time highest weight was about 205 when I was 19, so I'm really lucky to be at my current weight without having to work for it but I do worry that unexpected weight loss and gain indicates metabolic problems. So I'm going to see what Atkins can do for me. I've been lurking around the boards for a while now and you guys have a great community here, so thanks and keep it up!

      Re: Hi

Welcome! The best place to start is with a copy of the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution, it's what we follow here on the board. Make sure you are eating enough from the food list, drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily, exercise and take a multi-vitamin without iron. Ask questions -- we're all here to help each other!

Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything legal in your home. Linda's recipe site is very helpful with delicious recipes - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/

      Good luck to you!
      Carole

Hi Lyn, welcome to the site! I, as well, am so THANKFUL for coming across this website. I started Atkins on Monday April 19, 2010. I am finishing up day three taking ONE day at a time, baby steps. So far, my jeans are feeling better and i have SO much energy.

This website has helped me gain knowledge & have faith within myself. Also, if you haven't already, looking at the before and after pictures really puts a smile on my face. It's so nice to see people take control of their lives and become in better health.

I am SO excited for this journey and I hope you the best!! I'm around your age, so it's nice to have similarities with others on the site!
