  • Loving Atkins!!

I started one month ago and decided to do an extended induction phase. I was addicted to carbs for years...bread, pasta and pepsi (lots and lots of pepsi). I was hesitant to go with atkins in fear of setting myself up for failure. I have been absolutely amazed at how successful and "easy" this has been for me. I don't even crave any of my old favorite foods, I feel full and satisfied, it's GREAT! I have lost 25 pounds since 4/12/10 and am so encouraged by the weight loss.

Looking forward to hitting my goal weight of 130 very soon, I'm over half way there already. I really see low carb eating being a way of life from now on. I have been reading threads on here for a while and have learned so much...thanks for all of you "pros" who post so much helpful information.

    Welcome to ADBB!!

Are you reading the book, Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002)?

Since you don't have much more weight to lose, you should move to OWL.

      Re: Loving Atkins!!

Congratulations on your weight loss this far - since you are so close to your goal you should go on to OWL and start adding foods back so you'll know which foods you can eat without any problems and which ones you need to stay away from.

      Good luck

        Re: Loving Atkins!!

The book I have is "atkins for life". I didn't realize there were more out there, this was given to me by a friend. I have been thinking I should move to OWL, I just really like how things are going now I will likely move on to OWL in the next week. I understand induction phase isn't recommended long term, for good reason.

Congrats on your weight loss, how wonderful.. amazing because I was addicted to regular pepsi myself..not coke....I do miss it, but I have gotten used to doing without it...I am so glad I stopped because of all that sugar I was consuming...keep up the good work..
