    Re: ready to get started

I was going to get liposuction today ..... but the vaccuum is broken....ROFL!!!! .

Have you tried sea salt? That's what we changed to after DH had his triple bypass. He put salt on everything before but he goes much easier when he has to grind the salt each time he wants some. It's worth a try!

By the way -- bourbon street chicken does have sugar in the coating...I'd stay away from that also...it's along the lines of teriyaki sauce.

We didn't make it to Red Lobster this weekend.....maybe next weekend.

Keep up the great work - you're going to get to your goal...it's just going to be on the scenic tour - that way you can really appreciate getting there!!

great news! It's great when the scale moves in a positive way. I like what you said about making a commitment -- that's the best incentive for you.

Taking care of my mother over the last year has really changed my perspective of life. I don't want to let my health go until it's too late and I have regrets about what I could or should have done earlier in my life. Your children deserve to have a healthy dad to grow up with. My father left too early in my life -- so I do everything I can to keep my mother as healthy as possible. When you see your children every morning remember you are living the Atkins life because of them!

it will go slowly this time -- not like your first time on induction. Doesn't seem fair does it?? LOL. I'm sure even if you decided to move on we'd still enjoy having you as a part of our little group.

Great news on your loss....every pound gone is a pound gone forever!! Hey 5.8 pounds is nothing to sneeze at my friend! I would be thrilled with that - we'll find out how I've done on Monday - that's the end of my 2 week re-induction.

You may be one that has to stay under 40 carbs a day to continue to loose or stay the same....I was wondering if I had surpassed my magic number when I stopped losing, but I was also sick at the same time, that's why I decided to do another clean induction to see what happened this time.

                Good luck!

                      Re: ready to get started

DHAC, it doesn't look to me like you are eating enough fat and protein. Add some sausage or bacon -- or another egg or more cheese -- to breakfast; make sure your chef salad has enough meat in it.

Sometimes if you eat salty foods it will make you hold an extra 2 or 3 pounds of water. So go easy on the salt, and make sure you are getting plenty of water to flush the salt out.

Don't get discouraged. I always go up and down, but the overall trend is down.

                            Re: ready to get started

I believe what you have is called PISS [Post Induction Stall Syndrome] ... the same thing happened to me. About the same time this happened I also came down with a virus that was going around (that my husband brought home..thank you very much). I started up the rungs and nothing was happening but I continued to move up the ladder......I just kept hoping something would happen and all the sudden the weight would fall off of me. I've read PISS is common enough that I'm not alone and you aren't either.

2 weeks ago I joined Stallbusters with a few friends and it helped so much. As of this morning I have lost 5 pounds.....I haven't lost any weight for almost 2 months and now I'm down 5!

Don't give up and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE....don't do that to yourself again (the going to Chili's thing). You need to start packing your lunch -- get a small cooler put good things in it so you don't have the temptation to break down again.

It really looks like you need more protein, more fats maybe even more veggies in your daily meals. What I do is sometime after dinner each evening I go to FitDay and plug in my food for the next day -- then I write down what I've decided to have and that's what I eat -- nothing less....nothing more.
