  • Struggling ??

    I got a PM from a friend who said that she was really struggling with staying on plan and I thought there are probably more of us out there. Are you struggling and what's hardest for you?
    Would you like to get together and start a mini support group?

    awwwww....I'd love bringing stallbusters back.....I see so many people having trouble from time to time....it's a great idea to have a place for us to come and not feel like outcasts!

          Welcome back. Only rule here is everyone needs to be supportive and love one another. I have seen so many really snippy remarks on this board lately, That was never tolerated before. So here, we take care of one another and remove any remark that isn't supportive.

            Great idea. I've only been back on Atkins for 12 days so I am not yet struggling BUT based on past history I'm sure it's just a matter of time so yeah I think a support group for stalling/staying on plan is a great idea.

              not stalled cause I'm a goalie but I can so relate to stalled folk. can I just pop in and holler "stay the course, work chapter 15, and the inches and scales will move again?"

                    that's me exactly.....hoping that someday I can get my food figured out and get things moving a little better! BUT, some loss is better than nothing!

                      Maybe one day 2big can tell us about her "stall". It was a long one and what she did to finally break it was interesting.

                        which stall? the one at 254? right at 200? or maybe you are referring to the infamous "slug diet" one of summer of 03.

                        the main thing is reread your DANDR chapter 15 and believe that Dr Atkins knows what he is talking about in there.

                        Oh and if you decide to make a change in your exercise, medications, and/or eating make just one change at a time and give it time to work before you change something else if it isn't giving you the resluts you think you should be getting cause you could end up with something that looks nothing like the Atkins eating plan that you have been enjoying shrinking on up to the point of your stall. cause if you post you are stalled you are going to get a bizillion posts from other folk who cured their "stall" with a bizillion different things. some folk were never stalled neither just their scale didn't move for 2-3 days.

                          This really hit home to me - About changing one thing and see how it effects you - instead of rushing to do everything at once..

                          And also when not seeing the results we want - we end up switching so much up that it doesn't even look like Atkins anymore... All in the hopes of getting those quick results...

                          You said it sista..

                          That's me to a TEE... if only I could go back I think I could have avoided the slippery slope of over indulgence and regaining some of the weight back.. if I'd only slowed down and figured it out properly..

                          Officially Re-Focusing on 12-28-09.

                          Was, Am, Will be: 280/222/175ish.
                          Started Dec 2005 and lost 105 lbs by mid 2006, maintained loss for the most part until 2009...then really let go & gained some back... lol

                          so:

                          12/28/09 ~ 235.1
                          01/04/10 ~ 229.0
                          01/11/10 ~ 229.0 Grrrrr....
                          (Induction= only 6lbs but lost 10 inches! yay)
                          01/18/10 ~ 227.4

                            after having so much success I cant seem 2 keep it up! It hurts me that I've worked so hard last year only to keep screwing it up when I haven't even reached my goal yet! I feel like I am trying so hard but I cant seem 2 get it right for more than a week! I wont move on to OWL cuz I've stopped counted my carbs MONTHS ago as it just became too tedious! I know it works I just wish I had the same mind-set I had when I 1st started ...I really dont know what to do...

                              We certainly understand that. Been there, done that. So, what would get you motivated again. Are you exercising and do you enjoy the exercise that you do.
                              Instead of counting carbs, why not just focus on foods that you like that you know to be legal.
                              Move up the ladder, you need some variety, berries will be out soon, cottage cheese and yogurt with those berries.
                              What are you craving? Salt, Creamy??
