I felt ridiculous today when I kept having to pull up my jeans, but also proud. It was weird.
Does anyone watch King of the Hill? I watched an episode a few days ago where Peggy and Nancy are sitting down in Nancy's kitchen talking.
Peggy wants to go somewhere or something with Nancy but Nancy says sorry she had to sort through her fanmail or something. But what reminded me of this Atkins diet was Peggys next line:
"Oh, that's okay. I'm on an all bacon diet and my time would probably be better spent eating more bacon..."
I lol'd.

I just read a paper about "10 lies about the Atkins Diet", where the author rambled on about the wrongness of all the studies supporting the Atkins plan. He stated that the test subjects were on high fat, low carb diets, but they weren't eating typical Atkins foods. He obviously had no idea how this diet works. I'll quote it.
"What’s especially interesting –providing confirmation of the metabolic advantage of a high protein diet – is that the foods provided in this study were low carb, but NOT typical Atkins fare. Instead of lots of red meat and saturated fat, the subjects in this particular study ate mostly fish, chicken, salads, vegetables and unsaturated oils."
Unfortunately, all we can do is ignore those people. King of the Hill is a funny show. I'm glad they didnt refer to it as a low carb diet or the atkins diet.
I am so happy for you Spuffy. Keep up the good work. You are shrinking!
