He shoots, he SCORES.... GOAL!!!

Article

I can't believe this day is actually here. 6 months ago I was feeling like crap weighing 235lbs. At 35 I was pushing type II diabetes. I just got laid off from my job and had a lot of spare time on my hands. It was time. I was putting it off for years. I have never tried to loose weight before. I've been overweight and chubby since I was 10 years old. They say time is the fire in which we burn, well time lit a flame under my butt for sure. My diet at the time was mainly bread and Coke. I drank a 2 liter a day in Coke. I could not function with out it. I probably consumed 700-1000 carbs a day then. I knew that the Atkins diet was the only diet that would work for me because I was addicted to carbs. I dusted off my Atkins book that I bought in 2003 and started on Jan 21st cold turkey. I also began hiking every day then as well. 2 weeks later I survived and was 15lbs lighter, there was no turning back now. I went from 3 miles hikes to 10 miles within 2 months. Last month I joined a gym and went ape $hit and finally dropped the last remaining weight. My goal was to get to my proper BMI chart weight. But it turns out I am 1 inch taller than I thought, so I hit goal without realizing it last week! I still want to tone myself up more. I am starting the P90X the day I come back from vacation next week, and I hope to drop another 15lbs or so and improve my body fat %. My new goal is to look good naked!! I plan on making a youtube video after I complete the P90X with all the before and after photos, and to emphasize that I did it with Atkins!! I still am shy when people tell me I look great, it feels good yet odd. The best part is being able to buy clothes that fit now! In pants I went from a 42" waist to a 31". In stretch pants I went from a XL to a Medium. And I dropped 2 shirt sizes from a XXL to a L. Thanks to everyone who has inspired me on this board with all of their success stories. I must have read them all 50 times each, they helped me so much! I only hope that I can inspire people now to join us on this journey that I wish I would have made 15 years ago.
