  • Must try this....

Hi everyone ( I posted this in ext.induc.)

I thought a lot of you may enjoy this delicious dish I'm making tonight...mmmm

ground beef (I used .772 kg-the whole medium package)
tomatoe past (I used the whole 5 oz can)
chopped onion (less than 1/2 cup) depends on you
    chopped parsley (1/2 cup)
season with salt 'n' pepper and/or seasoning salt

    Preheat oven to 450 F
In a bowl mix the beef, onion, parsley and salt pepper until all mixed in together.
In a cup mix the tomatoe paste with water (enough to make it saucy) Then take a large deep casserole dish and butter the bottem a little so meat doesn't stick.
Place the meat until entire bottom is covered. Take the paste and pour on top..(make sure there is enough tomatoe sauce covering the meat...but not too much so it doesn't overflow when cooking) If needed, keep adding a little bit of water until covered.
Cook for 20-30 min...keep checking between that time until you feel satisfied with the way it looks.
If you want you can add cheese after...it is very delish!

Sorry if I didn't explain clear enough....I'm not good with wording out my recipes!

    enjoy..I am off to eat!

Doesn't taste like pizza, and I have never had meatloaf. It is laid out flat in a 2 inch deep casserole dish though...This is a lebanese dish that my mother has been making us for years! Usually instead of cheese..your supposed to put sliced potatoes on top! It is really good though, especially with a lettuce and cucumber salad on the side!

Sounds like our meatloaf only flatter. I used to make my meatloaf and cover the whole outside w/ mashed potatos, it was really good that way so I'm sure your mom's dish was very similar to that.

Oh really...that sounds good with mashed potatoes...In meatloaf there is also the tomatoe sauce? Then maybe it's lebanese meatloaf...lol.

Most folks put tomato sauce in the meatloaf and some serve theirs with tomato sauce or put it on top while they're cooking it. Some people eat it with gravy or with ketchup too. I've made it stuffed with cheddar cheese and topped with mashed potatos, my honey loves it that way. Hey, we better stop talking about potatos! LOL way to high carb for this WOL!
