    Re: Spinach question...

never used canned. is it packed full of water? Creamed spinach makes you remove as much of ther water as you can. you could try a can in soup. there is a great creamed spinach recipe on the Atkins site called Manhattan creamed spinache and a good one on FoodTV.net

You can drain it mix it with softened cream cheese and roll it up in thinly pounded beef, pork or chicken. Secure the ends and brown in a skillet. place in a baking dish and cook. youu can add garlic and other favorite herbs too. Nutmeg goes good with spinach too.

you can just stir all your omelette ingredients together even the eggs and then pour it in the pan and cook it. then you don't have to worry about spreading the cream cheese out. it has a fancy italian name when you fix it like that.

      Re: Spinach question...

If I had to come up with the one item that degrades the most when canned, it would probably be spinach. Soup cans pretty well, tomatoes- same thing. But spinach... it's a long drop from fresh to canned.

All this being said, I happen to be pretty tolerant of canned spinach in restaurant curries. But then again, I tend to be extremely tolerant of restaurant curries. I just about worship the stuff.
