I'm defrosting some for dinner tonight. Whats *your* favourite way to cook it?

    Re: Tilapia

I just had tilapia for the first time last week. It's soooo good, and I'm not really a fish lover. A friend made it with some cajun seasoning on it. Just fried it up I think. So in other words, fried and seasoned with cajun seasonings, mmmmmm good.

Does this taste similar to Haddock? I have wanted to try it..................

I love haddock but am afraid of the tilapia being to fishy???

Terry - if you're into non-fishy fish, then tilapia is perfect for you. This is precisely the reason my husband loves it.

MOG - You always mention that Old Bay Seasoning! What's in it exactly? I don't think I've ever seen it around here...

Where are you that there is no Old Bay? We can ship some right out to you -- people here is Maryland seem to put in on everything except ice cream (and I may be wrong about that!). It's usually in the spice aisle with all of the other seasonings -- it's in a yellow and blue tin. I'm sure some one will post a photo of it for you!

                  Re: Tilapia

MOG, that is basically the same way I fix my tilapia. I spray the pan with cooking spray, put butter on the fish and sprinkle with Old Bay. I bake it at 425 degrees (in a toaster oven) for about 17 minutes. A quick and easy supper that is scrumptious! (I buy a box of the fish at Wal-Mart for $12 and save some $$ instead of buying it in the small bags.) This is something I cook at least once a week. Prior to starting Induction again I have used the recipe in Dr. A's new book on maintenance (I can't remember the name of it right now) and make his "Bronzed Catfish" recipe with the tilapia. It turns out really good this way too. I just don't add the salt in the list of ingredients because it comes out too salty. I think that is a maintenance recipe. (We are just eating it baked right now.)

I sometimes also boil some shrimp in Zateran's Crab Boil. Yummy! We eat them over a salad at times too. It is like a "seafood fest" dinner.

(I'm from Louisiana so I love seafood!!)

Hmm, I'll keep an eye out when we hit the grocery store this weekend, for it. It definitely does not look familiar! Any of the Canadians on the board know if we have Old Bay up here?

Whereabouts in Toronto are you? My husband I just moved into a condo at Bathurst and Lakeshore.

I guess that means I won't have any luck finding it either. Ahh well!
