How are ya Jim? How do you cook yours. I used to always boil mine until I started roasting mine in the oven. I just spice them up and drizzle a little olive oil on them. Cook them at around 400 until crisp tender. Sometimes I'll mix greenbeans, asparagus, onions, mushrooms all together......soooooo good. Hope you and yours are doing good. Have a great weekend.

I'm going to merge this thread with the big Garden thread. (Yeah, I like to keep the forum nice and tidy, lol)

              Let's see...

The garden did well this year.

A few things died due to Tropical Storm Ernesto's wind. But otherwise, it's still good.

I had several squashes grow, even though they weren't planted. I figure they were straggler seeds that got lost on the way to the compost pile. So I have a crop of spaghetti squash, an acorn squash, some kind of green pumpkin-like thing and I even have a cucumber growing!

I'm going to plant my fall crop of lettuce, spinach, and snow peas this weekend.

This weekend we will be ripping up the tomatos and most of the pepper plants, except maybe my anaheims, they are still producing like crazy after a late start.

We wanted to put in garlic, greens and beets but I don't think we're going to be able to afterall. We would have to really fertilize and get some more mulch and unfortunatley its not in the budget. Oh well, maybe next year.

My tomatoes just keep on coming, so will let them stay until there's nothin left but green ones to fry before the first frost next month, unless a hurricane takes them down.

This weekend I'll be overhauling the back and side lawns, mainly digging up violets by the root with a fork, as they've nearly taken over, and nothing else works that's safe. The rest of the pruning and weeding will follow, once the lawn is mowed, so hopefully the infestation will not repeat itself next year.

Removing trash trees will be tended to once leaves are down, so there will be more sunshine in the back for growing veggies. Garlic & onion are coming up now, along with some greens.

You know, violets are edible: flowers and leaves, roots are inedible/toxic. The common violet, not the African violet.
