Hmmm. I haven't had any trouble with things sticking..... I just spray them with Pam as well. Sorry I can't help!

        Re: Silicone cookware

from one Redhead to another .. that is why I have the black petina on my metal cookware it works just like silicone

I have to go and look at this stuff in the store some time ...

I did have someone give me a silpat or whatever it is called that you put in a cookie sheet ..but it was just another thing to wash and since I rarely make cookies and they never stick to the metal pans I am not sure what the point of that was either ....

I love silicone pans. Ive made banana bread (before Atkins) and a frittatta in my pans thus far. havent had any trouble with sticking. (I refuse to use Pam, what unnatural garbage! not ot mention it leaves a residue that does not come off of metal sufaces. I use butter to coat the inside of my pans or olive oil in a mister bottle).

Tired I agree with the Pam thing although I think it is just lecithin in it and that is actually good for you...however it does ruin pans...my black petina is from years of use not from Pam...

does this stuff brown as well? and if you use it for a fritatta does that mean you can put it on the stove top?

              Re: Silicone cookware

I love my silicone bakeware! I have a cupcake pan and a loaf pan. I've never had trouble with sticking..

Two words of warning though..since this stuff bends, its VERY easy to spill your muffin batter out of muffin cups...You have a make sure you pick it up at both ends. Also, I've burned myself twice on it..looks so harmless and like it wouldn't get hot LOL man does it get hot (i had a couple of DUH moments when i first bought it).

and heidi, my breads/muffins brown very well. I find i get a really good crust on breads i make with the loaf pan.

                    Re: Silicone cookware

Oh and it's also microwavable, and stores great since it's bendable..I've never microwaved anything it it though.

Here is a loaf of l/c bread I baked in my loaf pan, so you can see how it browns:

                      Re: Silicone cookware

yeah, the bendable part. I usually put them on my pizza stone in the oven.

Don't they come with little wire racks that they fit into to keep them rigid so you don't have to worry about them bending? I could have sworn the set I saw did.
