I buy a lot of spinach and baby spinach, of varying brands, depending on what's on sale, so I just put a generic "baby spinach" food item into my fitday and use that no matter what brand I'm using. Spinach should be spinach, right? Pretty much all of the ones I've bought have an 85g serving with 3 carbs, 2 fiber for 1 net carbs. 85g is a little over 3 oz, or about 3 cups of loosely packed spinach.
Most recently though, I bought a large bulk bag at Sam's Club and the nutrition information is schizophrenic!
Take a look at this:
Serving size: 1 1/4 cup (85g)
Sevings per container: about 8

First of all, I'm not sure they could fit 85g of raw spinach into 1 1/4 cup no matter how tightly they packed it. But even if so this is showing 5 net carbs for an 85g serving, which is FIVE TIMES what any other brand indicates for the same food. It also has double the calories and almost triple the sodium.
I'd love some feedback on what you guys think! Have they made some super-spinach that has entirely different nutritional information, or is their label simply wrong wrong wrong?
To contrast, this is the information for Dole Organic Baby Spinach. Fresh Express has the same exact nutritional information for a serving size of 3.0 oz. (everything is identical).
