Hello all!
My dh and I are planning to participate in a 2-day hike to the summit of the Zugsptize in late July. Of course, we'll be doing many, many, MANY hikes over the coming months to prepare for that.
I asked my doc yesterday about snacks that I could tote in my backpack to help give me energy while I'm hiking. I'm diabetic (on a non-hypoglycemic inducing med) and he knows I follow a controlled carb plan. His advice? Apple juice, Power Bars and peanut-butter crackers.
So, my dear ADBB friends, I would like some other advice from people who might suggest things I will actually eat.
Any ideas other than almonds? Of course I want to avoid anything that has sugar alcohol in it. That side effect is the last thing I want to deal with while I'm out in the woods!
Thanks in advance!!
