  • How to buy pure 100% liquid splenda, no carbs

Not sure if this has already been posted, but if not, I have some great news for those who like to cook or are just sick of wasting carbs on Splenda. I've been looking for pure liquid splenda, without the fillers and unnecessary carbs, for eons. I finally found a source and got my order in just now (she only sells it 3 times a month at certain times.) Here's the link: http://www.sweetzfree.com

The order window is open NOW, 9:00pm EST until supplies run out. I'm VERY MUCH looking forward to making low carb cheesecake and other treats without adding the carbs that powdered Splenda adds!

If you're looking for a little less urgency, try FiberFit found http://www.trulylowcarb.com/fiberfit.htm. Here's some more info about it from holdthetoast.com

So why won't McNeil give us liquid Splenda? Your guess is as good as mine, but it's really starting to annoy me. There have been a few companies that have sold a low carb "syrup concentrate" that consisted simply of liquid sucralose diluted with water to a usable strength, but they come and go, apparently because McNeil is uncooperative. The only liquid sucralose product I know that has been on the market consistently for at least a few years is Fiberfit, which is marketed as a fiber supplement instead of a sweetener. You can find it here: http://www.trulylowcarb.com/fiberfit.htm I have used Fiberfit, and I think it's quite good.

Re: How to buy pure 100% liquid splenda, no carbs

the sweetzfree is a good source of liquid Splenda. the Holdthetoast article is a little out of date as McNeil no longer controls the supply of liquid splenda according to their buyout agreement with Tate & Lyle Plc.

there is a shortage of the stuff because of worldwide demand for the stuf and all purchasers even the big guys like Coke have had their supplies limited as they geared up the new production facilaties.

WalMart now sells its own version of the sweetener -- called sucralose -- under the brand name "Altern" at the supercenters.

WOW I had no idea! I wish I'd known, I have a Walmart SuperCenter just down the road! I don't shop there regularly, but would've gone there for that! How much is it?

        Thanks 2big!

I seen the packets. Are they selling a version of the liquid?

I find the prices a little high. How do they compare to say the DiVinci's syrups?
PS)And if DiVinci's has all these flavored syrups with splenda why can't they come out with a no taste syrup. (Theotorical question, not really expecting an answer to that, but hey if anyone knows, cool.)

I have yet to get there but it is supposedly 30% less than Splenda costs in Wal-Mart.

The amount of water in fiberfit makes a little tricky to bake with. Not as tricky as Davinci's persay, but still tricky. And the cost per cup equivalent is almost twice as much. The last time I checked, sweetzfree was around .75 cents per cup sweetening equivalent and fiberfit 1.43.

The extra water and the price are definitely enough impetus for me to endure the urgency in sweetzfree's ordering process.

It's a phenomenal price, but for those concerned with cutting their carbs, Altern is bulked with maltodextrin/dextrose just like regular splenda.

Prices a little high?!? You might want to think about investing in a calculator

                      All prices include shipping:

                      Sweetzfree
                      1 oz. bottle
                      ($18 + free shipping)
                      150x sweeter than sugar
                      24 Cups sweetening equivalent

Cost per cup sweetening equivalent: .75

                      Fiberfit
                      16 oz. bottle
                      ($17.99 + 4.95 shipping)
                      8x sweeter than sugar
                      16 cups sweetening equivalent

Cost per cup sweetening equivalent: 1.43

                      Davinci Simple Syrup
                      25.4 oz. bottle
                      ($7.49 + 4.95 shipping)
                      1.33x sweeter than sugar
                      4.22 cups sweetening equivalent

Cost per cup sweetening equivalent: 2.94

The Davinci price is for Netrition. Although some stores have better prices on Davincis (TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Smart & Final, Cash & Carry), the flavor choice is limited and the odds of finding the unflavored simple syrup are slim. Even if one were to track down a good deal on simple syrup, it would still cost more than Sweetzfree. And you've got the water to contend with. Try making a cookie sweetened with Davinci- you can't.

These are the carb free options. For those a little more lenient with their carbs, I believe the Walmart house brand, Altern, is cheaper per cup than sweetzfree- quite a bit cheaper. Based on reports of a 5 lb equivalent bag costing 5.46, that comes to 54 cents per cup sweetening equivalent.

A little rude aren't we? I was just looking at a l oz. bottle being 18.00. Don't know the equivalents since I have never been able to purchase liquid splenda before.

Davinci had a no flavor as did many places selling Splenda sweetened syrups and back in 2002 and 2003 when McNeil controlled the North American market for Splenda in all forms companies selling the stuff unflavored were informed their "supply" would be cut off if they continued so they stopped doing it.

Even then it was watered down. the stuff at sweetsfree is in dropper bottles and 25 drops is equal to a cup of sugar in sweetness.

                              What 2big said.

Monin does make an unflavored syrup, but it's both Splenda AND Xylitol. A nice product though if your body can handle the sugar alcohol. I've had no problem with Xylitol, with its lower glycemic index I tend to trust it more than some of the others. But like 2Big said, it takes a lot more to equal the sweetness of the sweetzfree. I think a tablespoon is a serving, whereas a drop is a serving of sweetzfree. Something like that anyway, just ballpark.
