  • Jacques Pepin

Has anyone seen this guy? I was watching his show today on public television (I know, I'm a nerd) and I think he's great. Unfortunately, I only saw half of the show, but he was making really great things with smoked salmon. I'm going to see if I can find his book at the library.

Ben made the dessert he made on the show today. Of course I didn't eat any, but it was super easy. Blend 8 ounces of cream cheese with sugar and orange zest. Cut an orange into segments. Blob the cream cheese stuff into a dish, top with orange segments, and pour OJ on top. Jacques made a sauce with Orange Marmalade and OJ, but Ben skipped the marmalade. I thought adding a little liqueor or some sort would have been awsome, but Ben doesn't like me interfereing with his masterpieces. LOL. Anyway, he took it over to our friends house so he wouldn't eat all of it.

I personally am in love with Wolfgang Puck... might be his accent--and I LOVE a good schnitzel. Ooo.. I am swooning.

Anthony Bourdain....now he's the man! I loved his show where he traveled all over and he'd eat anything and everything at least once. Got cancelled, but he's got a new show on the travel channel called "No Reservations". I even got a signed copy of his book, "A Cook's Tour"!

Goodness! This guy I must see! Sounds wonderful. He's gotta be French, by the name. How come we don't see much of him here in Europe?

I don't know why and you may not see him I dont know that he is doing any more shows he does have cookbooks ..and is a French chef but has lived in the States for a long time now ..he used to do shows and they are still rerunning on our public broadcasting stations ..for a while he cooked with his daughter as well as a series where he cooked with Julia Child (my absolute favorite chef in the world)....no flash no glam nothing like that just a fine chef with a great style of cooking. He is like Julia in that they both make fine food as well as French cooking accessable to everyone ...Jaques Pepin does make a lot of wonderful rustic dishes as well and the finer foods
