Not meant to be disrespectful, but there is always dog food--if it is eaten somewhere along the food chain then it is not wasted IMO. Since I dont' slaughter my own meat I'm sure that most of what is not sold to me is sold to someone else for whatever purpose--like dog food, hot dogs, Vienna sausages or Potted meat. It is up to the butcher to be responsible, thank goodness because quite frankly, if I had to kill my dinner personally, I would definatley be a vegetrian!

this is NOT dietary prejudice I know what organs do!

this is not dietary prejudice for me and BTW I agree with MOG ...I took MANY anatomy and physiology classes...and there are organs and parts I would rather avoid simply because I know what the function was when they were active in the body! I do not eat things that are used in the body to filter anything!!! There are many reasons besides just the idea of it...if you raise you own animals that is one thing you know what has passed through that body ..but when you buy processed meat (no I do not eat any type of sausages I do not make myself and I do not use casings to make them) ...you have no clue what that animal has eaten ...hormones, antibiotics and chemicals ...these things can accumulate in organs and fat ...I try to always buy from a reputable butcher and never buy anything with organ meat it it!...I am not prejudice I try to be a wise consumer!...if you raise and organic lamb and eat the organs you are doing much better than buying liver at the grocery store...however a liver is a liver and biologically what it does does not make it food in my book...sorry I agree with Dave :vomit
