    Re: sirloin steak

    Heidi,

I ususally marinate mine in worstershire fresh garlic olive oil and vinegar. You will definately need vinegar wine lemon juice or some ACID of choice to tenderize it. Other then that I jsut poke it with a fork, to allow to marinade and tenderize.

I also eat my meat rare, and it is great rare with this simple marinade.

ENJOY!! I am sure it will be delish.

LOL I saw that you are most welcome if you all start now you may make it by the time this steak is tender

I wonder why I have so much trouble with beef? it just makes me so uncomfortable to cook it for some reason ..I like it but it is not my favorite red meat ..that would be lamb or goat actually ..Pork is ok ..but lamb is my number one favorite red meat! and young goat for sure is second favorite...

I am a seafood/fish eater to be honest over all the land animals!

            Re: sirloin steak

I am not a huge meat eat PERIOD. Spent many years as a vegitarian. Loved my way of eating. But due to massive food allergies and nutritional compromise, I began to eat meat again almost 1 year ago.

I have always cooked beef tho-- as my hubby is a huge meat and potatoes man.... And I love to cook, so I cook what others will eat..

Sirloin should be rare or at the least medium rare because it's a relatively lean piece of meat, imo.

Page 2 of this link has a recipe for cooking sirloin and pan sauce.

                  Re: sirloin steak

I asked this same question on another board last week

I seared mine in a VERY hot pan that was coated in extra virgin olive oil. I did about 2 minutes on each side.

I eat mine medium, so then I put the entire pan in the broiler for about 5 minutes. They were very, very good.

                    Re: sirloin steak

you know what that steak came out quite good the marinade worked perfectly and I soaked it forever then my husband just cranked the grill up to like 600 degrees tossed some soaked chips in foil on the side and when they started smoking he tossed the meat on the grill for just a sear on both sides ..took it off wrapped it in foil for and let it stand...then sliced thin it was rare and very very good!!!! I will do this again thank you so much for your help!
