      Re: bike trip...

I carried my water, food, and some bike supplies (like a small air pump) in my backpack. And I was also wearing a fanny pack. So yesterday I ordered a rear rack. I figure that will help me carry supplies, without loading all on my back!

                    Re: outdoorsy cooking

This very short trip was the most wonderful time I have had in years!!!!....it is so much fun being forced to take your time to do everything.... I spent 4 hours building the perfect fire!!! Just because I could!!! I do not think I have been this dirty or content in ages!!!
The weather was perfect....we hiked up the beach from one beautiful spot to another...
we gathered river rocks off the beach and then heated them in a pot of water and gave each other hot stone massage after packing in ...OMG that was amazing..to look out at the ocean and have these hot hot rocks being rubbed into very sore muscles ..yup coconut oil works perfectly for that...

food was wonderful ..I ate like I had a tapeworm ..everything does taste better when you are outside and starved!!!....company was the best and I am rested, sunburned (forgot the sunscrean), and sore ..but very content....no bugs!!! how cool was that!!

Congratulations on your fabulous outing Heidi. Hot rock massage sounds great. Do you wrap the rock (how does the massager hold the rock to do the deed?)

I'm heading out this week to camping. Can't wait, can't wait. How did you ceviche work out? I love it and fresh is the best in my opinion. patty

well the hot rocks are tricky because they need to be pretty hot but not burn so I would get them out of the water toss them back and forth in my hands until I could stand it then put them on the skin coated with oil and just keep moving ..our backs got a lovely red and it felt so good I can not tell you!!! here are some pics!
