You know, I was waiting for them yesterday to complain but no one did. But then, these people eat alot of high -fiber foods, so maybe their systems are used to it.

Maybe I reduced some of the gassiness because I really rinsed those canned beans well before I blendered them?

maybe they don't have a healthy intestinal flora either as that is the source of the gas. they digest the starches we can't and makr gas as a byproduct. low amount of bacteria low amount of gas slow gut travel time more gas too.

I got a note in my mail box about a OCT neighborhood picnic and written on it was hope you'll bring more of those pies. seems I will be the mock pecan pie neighbor now LOL

            Re: Pinto bean pie question

Okay, I did some more experimenting with the beanie last night. I used black beans (the frijoles negros, not the black soy beans). I added a 1/3 cup Dutch processed cocoa, sweetener (1/2 stevia and 1/2 Splenda), vanilla extract, 1/2 stick unsalted butter (melted), 1 teaspoon baking powder, and a pinch of salt. I blended it together until smooth. It was rather thick (very thick), so I added alittle Davinci syrup to thin it a bit. Pour it into a greased and inulined 8 x 8 in square pan. Baked it at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes. I cut 16 pieces from it.

It looked like a brownie. It tasted like a brownie (I ate 1/2 a piece). If I can ever get past the stevia-funky-herby-weird aftertaste, it would have been better. But my co-workers today think they taste great.

                LOL!

I think they're getting more fiber than they've ever had at the office before! The good thing for me is that I have a bunch of co-workers who will eat (almost) anything that's left in the break room.

I don't think they'll go for the pickle pie, though.....unless it's very well disguised....very well disguised.
