  • My new fave red meat cut...

    Skirt steak!!!!
    This is such an awesomely flavorful cut!!
    I pan sear it with crushed black pepper and then shake on ground cumin at the end and drizzle it with lime juice. OMG so good!

    Hi Melinda, just the word steak gets me drewling. lol. I was at the local grocery yesterdsay and they had rib eyes very 'cheap' I mean I got a rib eye for $2.50 and its pretty good sized too.

    Enjoy your skirt steak and I will too.

      I still get confused about meats...is skirt steak similar to flank steak?

          Skirt steak is often used as fajita meat. I have been lucky in catchin' it on Monday mornings marked down after the weekend.

          That's an awesome price on those ribeyes, Patty! Ribeyes are a choice cut too!

          I had a filet mignon my MIL bought me (she's good at pickin' out gifts for me), I seared it with fresh ground black pepper. That thing cut like butter and was sooooo tender. I left it pretty rare, but warm through the center. It was so good. Red meat rocks!

          I think the next time I get my hands on a filet it's getting stuffed with bleu cheese. Bleu cheese was created to be served with beef. Love that tang!
